I do not believe in forcing celebrations into one rigid template just because that makes planning feel easier. People celebrate differently, guests react differently, and the evening may look different for exactly that reason. I would much rather you tell me openly what you want than have some generic programme dumped on top of your event.
How much lead time makes sense
As soon as you know where exactly you will be celebrating in Schlieben, it is worth getting in touch. During the season from May to September, 6 to 12 months is a good rule of thumb. Outside the season, 1 to 3 months is often enough. That does not mean nothing works later on – only that an early enquiry is usually the more relaxed option.

That is exactly what makes private celebrations interesting. Whether it is a milestone birthday, a coming-of-age event, a family anniversary or a silver wedding celebration: everyone should have a good evening even though musically they are rarely shopping in the same aisle. For me that does not mean running through a prepared list, but finding the right curve between singalongs, dancing, recognition and the occasional breather at the right moment.
In Schlieben, an evening like this usually begins much like it does elsewhere: first people talk, eat and observe, later the mood gradually tips towards party mode. That is where real sensitivity is needed, because sometimes only one song lies between “please not too wild just yet” and “why is nobody dancing yet?”.
I take my cue from your preferences, from the reactions in the room and of course from suitable requests. Because at private celebrations the point is not to celebrate me, but to keep your evening on course in a way that as many guests as possible remember fondly.

What I mean by that slightly confusing opening is simple: weddings demand even more care than an ordinary family celebration. Quite rightly, couples aim for a very high level of perfection, because unlike a birthday party that went slightly wrong, you cannot just say, “We will do it better next year.” This day is meant to be uniquely beautiful.
That is exactly why every wedding is something special to me as a DJ. I prefer to prepare weddings together with the couple in a personal meeting at the venue itself. In that final conversation we go through every highlight of the celebration so as little as possible is left to chance and typical planning mistakes can be avoided. I also speak with the person taking on the role of toastmaster so that guests planning surprises get the support they need as well.
Anyone looking for a wedding DJ has usually already answered the biggest question about the celebration: the right venue. Often it is already booked, sometimes there is still a shortlist with two or three beautiful places nearby. Hotel & Café Arcus in Elsterwerda may well be one of them. For me, emergency DJ service means this: your enquiry arrives later than 72 hours before music start time or the booking itself only happens within the final 48 hours before it. At that point, we are no longer talking about relaxed planning but about a short-notice operation with very clear limits.

Those limits should be known fairly. I no longer prepare the event in the usual detailed way, which means no extensive request and no-go lists and no miracles for songs I do not already have in stock. My job at that point is not to recreate a concept that was planned for months, but to use judgement, experience and a broad repertoire to put together a functioning and hopefully very good evening. For weddings, that also means it is wise to have alternative titles ready for the first dance and other fixed moments.

Especially at relaxed celebrations, not every minute needs to be tightly choreographed. Sometimes all it takes is a microphone, the right song and one guest who can either sing surprisingly well or with excellent confidence do the exact opposite. In both cases, entertainment is guaranteed.
The karaoke package includes around 300 songs from evergreen classics to newer chart material, two wireless microphones, a monitor on a stand for the lyrics, playback through my DJ sound system and of course title lists so that people do not have to spend ten minutes debating what can actually be sung.

One important point, though: this is an add-on to your DJ event. The karaoke package cannot be booked on its own and it is not a rental toaster for the weekend either.

Especially at school sports days, club events or smaller tournaments, it helps enormously when announcements are clear, music appears at the right moments and the whole thing does not sound as though somebody balanced an old kitchen speaker on the sprinkler system at short notice.
For smaller sports grounds and sports halls, I bring suitable sound reinforcement myself. Wireless microphones for announcements, award ceremonies or a commentator are also no problem. And if the site is larger than my usual setup can sensibly cover, the whole thing can be scaled up via a partner company instead of producing half-baked nonsense.
Music can help hold such a day together: before the start, during breaks, at award ceremonies or exactly at those moments when the energy on site begins to dip. And if there is a celebration afterwards, I am naturally happy to remain on site as DJ for that part as well.
