My name is Jens-Peter Weismantel, and I did not suddenly discover yesterday that music and loudspeakers might make a business model. I have been DJing since 1992, later spent about ten years in web radio, and in 2015 I made the move into self-employment and have been working under my own name ever since.
What interests me far more than any artificial DJ show is how an evening needs to fit the people who are celebrating. I am not a fan of treating every event with exactly the same concept. If you already know clearly what you want, great. If you only have a rough direction in mind so far, that is perfectly fine as well. The rest can be worked out together.
How much lead time makes sense
As soon as you know where exactly you will be celebrating in Pritzwalk, it is worth getting in touch. During the season from May to September, 6 to 12 months is a good rule of thumb. Outside the season, 1 to 3 months is often enough. That does not mean nothing works later on – only that an early enquiry is usually the more relaxed option.

Whether it is a birthday, pre-wedding party, anniversary or a larger celebration with family and friends: hosts want atmosphere, guests would ideally each like to hear their own music, and somewhere in between stands the DJ. Anyone who thinks I only have to press play and the rest will sort itself out either knows private parties only by hearsay or has been extremely lucky.
In Pritzwalk, things usually work just like they do elsewhere: first you need a feel for the evening, then for the guests, and then for the right moment. Some people want to dance early, others only later, and others are simply thrilled when something comes on that they have not heard in years.
That is why I do not try to turn private parties into a pretend nightclub. My job is to shape an evening out of your guests, your occasion and your atmosphere – one that stays lively without pulling in five directions at once. When that works well, it looks easy. It is not.

What I mean by that slightly confusing opening is simple: weddings demand even more care than an ordinary family celebration. Quite rightly, couples aim for a very high level of perfection, because unlike a birthday party that went slightly wrong, you cannot just say, “We will do it better next year.” This day is meant to be uniquely beautiful.
That is exactly why every wedding is something special to me as a DJ. I prefer to prepare weddings together with the couple in a personal meeting at the venue itself. In that final conversation we go through every highlight of the celebration so as little as possible is left to chance and typical planning mistakes can be avoided. I also speak with the person taking on the role of toastmaster so that guests planning surprises get the support they need as well.
The district of Prignitz offers a wide range of wedding venues. If you are already looking for a DJ, you have probably found your venue already, or perhaps even booked it. Maybe you still have a few lovely places nearby on your shortlist, possibly including venues such as Elbe Resort "Alte Ölmühle" in Wittenberge. One thing stays the same either way: ask about the DJ early, ideally around 12 months in advance. Popular dates tend to disappear especially fast.

Whether it is a summer party, Christmas event, open day, anniversary or product presentation, the point is usually not simply that some music is playing in the room. What matters is clear sound for announcements, as little microphone chaos as possible and a feel for when things should stay subtle and when they are allowed to become more lively.
For that I bring suitable sound and lighting for speech and music, wireless microphones for hosting or speeches if needed and the experience to support a business framework without killing it through awkward over-entertainment. If the event is meant to become more relaxed later on, the music can switch with it. And if the event grows beyond what normal room or site coverage can sensibly handle, extra capacity can be added via a partner company.

Especially at school sports days, club events or smaller tournaments, it helps enormously when announcements are clear, music appears at the right moments and the whole thing does not sound as though somebody balanced an old kitchen speaker on the sprinkler system at short notice.
For smaller sports grounds and sports halls, I bring suitable sound reinforcement myself. Wireless microphones for announcements, award ceremonies or a commentator are also no problem. And if the site is larger than my usual setup can sensibly cover, the whole thing can be scaled up via a partner company instead of producing half-baked nonsense.
Music can help hold such a day together: before the start, during breaks, at award ceremonies or exactly at those moments when the energy on site begins to dip. And if there is a celebration afterwards, I am naturally happy to remain on site as DJ for that part as well.

That is exactly where karaoke shines. Guests entertain guests, someone suddenly discovers their inner pop star, and the rest of the room wavers somewhere between applause, laughter and loud support, depending on the talent level involved. Boredom is rarely an issue.
For that, I bring a ready-made karaoke package: about 300 songs in German and English, two wireless microphones, a 24.5-inch monitor on a stand for the lyrics and clean playback via my DJ system. Song lists are naturally included, too, so nobody has to guess what is available.
