My name is Jens-Peter Weismantel. I first started gaining experience as a DJ back in 1992, and later spent many years as a radio DJ in web radio. Since 2015 I have been self-employed under the name Mobiler Musikservice, providing music for celebrations where the soundtrack should not merely run in the background, but genuinely fit the occasion.
What matters to me is that a celebration should not follow some standard pattern that could simply be thrown over any group of guests. Every person is different, so every evening may look different as well. What do you want for your event? That is the question worth discussing properly, rather than relying on ready-made concepts.
How much lead time makes sense
As soon as you know where exactly you will be celebrating in Möckern, it is worth getting in touch. During the season from May to September, 6 to 12 months is a good rule of thumb. Outside the season, 1 to 3 months is often enough. That does not mean nothing works later on – only that an early enquiry is usually the more relaxed option.

That is exactly what makes private celebrations interesting. Whether it is a milestone birthday, a coming-of-age event, a family anniversary or a silver wedding celebration: everyone should have a good evening even though musically they are rarely shopping in the same aisle. For me that does not mean running through a prepared list, but finding the right curve between singalongs, dancing, recognition and the occasional breather at the right moment.
In Möckern, an evening like this usually begins much like it does elsewhere: first people talk, eat and observe, later the mood gradually tips towards party mode. That is where real sensitivity is needed, because sometimes only one song lies between “please not too wild just yet” and “why is nobody dancing yet?”.

Still looking puzzled? Good. That small bit of confusion was intentional. Just like at any other celebration, planning mistakes can damage a party or even kill it completely. The same goes for guests who crash the timetable with their “wonderful and unique surprise”. The difference is that mistakes at an ordinary private party can be corrected next time. At weddings they cannot, because ideally you only celebrate them once.
Weddings may not be unique to me, but each one is special, and my pre-event nerves make that clear enough. I prepare weddings more thoroughly than any other kind of event. The final planning meeting with my couples ideally takes place at the venue. Coordination with toastmasters or witnesses is part of that too, because they can make or break a wedding evening just as much. Ongoing communication on the wedding day itself also helps prevent awkward disruptions and contributes to a particularly beautiful overall experience.
The district of Jerichower Land offers a wide range of wedding venues. If you are already looking for a DJ, you have probably found your venue already, or perhaps even booked it. Maybe you still have a few lovely places nearby on your shortlist, possibly including venues such as Hotel Stadt Genthin. One thing stays the same either way: ask about the DJ early, ideally around 12 months in advance. Popular dates tend to disappear especially fast.

That is exactly what I am bookable for as a DJ on New Year’s Eve. If the evening only truly catches fire around midnight, a slow musical stroll does not help. New Year’s Eve may start off relaxed, but by the time the countdown approaches it should be clear that this is not just about chilled sparkling wine – the party itself needs to mean business.
What many people underestimate is this: for service providers, New Year’s Eve is not some romantic exception, but a working date with particularly high demand. That is why the fee is noticeably higher than on a normal date. That is neither rip-off nor bad mood, just the difference between an ordinary Saturday and the one night when half the country wants to celebrate.
For commercial New Year’s Eve events in Möckern, I currently offer a flat rate of 1.200 EUR zzgl. 19 % MwSt. for 2026, covering up to 200 guests, 6 to 8 hours of music plus sound and lighting for one room or hall. GEMA fees are additional.
This flat rate does not apply to private celebrations or club events. In those cases I look at the actual framework and make you an individual offer rather than throw some generic New Year’s Eve price at you.

I can provide sound, make announcements possible and, if required, also take on the moderating role myself. That fits sports festivals, club competitions, smaller tournaments and similar formats where not every detail needs huge production values, but where the whole event should still feel properly organised.
For smaller sports grounds and halls, I bring the equipment including wireless microphones for announcements, awards or interviews. When it comes to larger areas, my ambition stops early enough and I would rather bring in a partner company that is built for that job. It is more honest, it sounds better and it saves nerves in the end.
If the sports event turns into a celebration afterwards, that is not a problem at all but rather the obvious next step. In that case, awards, announcement beds and event music can flow quite naturally into a proper evening party.
