My name is Jens-Peter Weismantel. I first started gaining experience as a DJ back in 1992, and later spent many years as a radio DJ on online radio. Since 2015 I have been self-employed under the name Mobiler Musikservice, providing music for celebrations where the soundtrack should not merely run in the background, but genuinely fit the occasion.
What matters to me is that a celebration should not follow some standard pattern that could simply be thrown over any group of guests. Every person is different, so every evening may look different as well. What do you want for your event? That is the question worth discussing properly, rather than relying on ready-made concepts.
When to enquire
The most sensible time to enquire is as soon as your venue in Buckow is confirmed. During the main season from May to September, a lead time of roughly 6 to 12 months is a good guide. Outside that season, 1 to 3 months is often enough. Enquiring earlier still never hurts – it merely saves you the frustration of hoping for a date that may already be gone.
The off-season runs from October to April. Plan your party or Christmas party 1 to 3 months in advance. That is exactly what makes private celebrations interesting. Whether it is a milestone birthday, a coming-of-age celebration, a family anniversary or a silver wedding: everyone should have a good evening even though they rarely share exactly the same taste in music. For me that does not mean working through a prepared list, but finding the right balance between singalongs, dancing, familiar favourites and the occasional breather.
In Buckow, an evening like this usually begins much as it does anywhere else: people talk, eat and settle in, and later the mood gradually shifts towards the dance floor. That is where a good sense of timing matters, because sometimes only one song lies between “not too wild just yet” and “why is nobody dancing?”.

Still looking puzzled? Good. That small bit of confusion was intentional. As at any celebration, poor planning can damage the evening, and well-meant surprises can throw a schedule off completely. The difference is that at an ordinary private party you can always say, “Next time we will do it better.” Ideally, a wedding only happens once.
That is why I prepare weddings more thoroughly than other events. The final planning meeting with the couple ideally takes place at the venue. I also coordinate with the best man, maid of honour or whoever is organising surprises, because their ideas can have a real impact on the flow of the evening. Staying in touch on the wedding day itself helps prevent awkward interruptions and keeps the celebration running naturally.
The district of Märkisch-Oderland offers plenty of wedding venues. If you are already looking for a DJ, chances are you have found your venue – perhaps you have even booked it. You may still have a few favourites nearby on your shortlist, possibly including Gartenglück in Wegendorf. Either way, it is worth asking about the DJ early, ideally around 12 months before the date. New Year’s Eve has its own rhythm. First there is food, conversation and a bit of warming up, then the tension builds towards midnight and afterwards the party should be allowed to take off properly. Reading that arc is crucial, otherwise the celebration quickly turns into one of those nights where everyone is politely present but nobody ever really gets going.
And let us be honest: even a DJ would usually prefer to spend New Year’s Eve relaxing rather than working. If I am out instead, responsible for the atmosphere, that comes at a price. Anyone who finds that odd is welcome to imagine how many colleagues would gladly drive out on 31 December for an everyday fee. Exactly.

For me, emergency DJ service applies to all enquiries received less than 72 hours before music start time and to all bookings confirmed less than 48 hours before music start time. At that point there is no longer any room for the usual preparation with wish lists, fine tuning and a comfortable lead-up. Then the goal is simply to bring structure, music and atmosphere back into the evening at all.
So you do not have to guess the rough price range in the middle of that stress, you will find a pricing example here. What I bring is not magic dust, but experience, equipment and a very large music library. What no longer works at this stage is a finely prepared content plan. No long wish list, no twenty-point no-go catalogue and no last-minute shopping trip for obscure personal favourites. In an emergency, people dance to what I already have properly in my repertoire and can sensibly work into the evening.
If things are really burning, please call me first. If I cannot answer right away, do leave a voicemail with the location and the desired music start time. If you prefer writing, put “emergency” or “urgent” very clearly into the subject or occasion field. Otherwise your emergency can easily look like a normal enquiry, and in this case that would be less than ideal.

That is exactly where karaoke shines. Guests entertain guests, someone suddenly discovers their inner pop star, and the rest of the room wavers somewhere between applause, laughter and loud support, depending on the talent level involved. Boredom is rarely an issue.
For that, I bring a ready-made karaoke package: about 300 songs in German and English, two wireless microphones, a 24.5-inch monitor on a stand for the lyrics and clean playback via my DJ system. Song lists are naturally included, too, so nobody has to guess what is available.
