Mobile DJ for Berlin-Plänterwald
An ideal DJ for an event in Plänterwald should be someone you would not only book, but someone you could genuinely imagine as a guest at your own celebration. So no forced showmanship, no awkward permanent grin on command, and no microphone work that makes the champagne reception quietly give up and leave.
What you will find here instead is a mobile DJ who believes in personal planning, suitable sound and lighting, and one clear goal: your celebration should not feel interchangeable. The evening should fit you – not some ready-made concept from the drawer labelled “it will probably do somehow”.
What the evening is really about
Most enquiries are not about some abstract “event” at all, but about very specific celebrations: weddings, birthdays, family parties, club events or perhaps a summer gathering where people want more than just standing around politely with a drink in hand.
That is exactly why the first conversation should not be about playlists, but about the occasion itself. Depending on who is celebrating, what is being celebrated and how the evening is meant to feel, the result will either come together nicely – or simply end up being a date with speakers.
Who I am
My name is Jens-Peter Weismantel. I first started gaining experience as a DJ back in 1992, and later spent many years as a radio DJ in web radio. Since 2015 I have been self-employed under the name Mobiler Musikservice, providing music for celebrations where the soundtrack should not merely run in the background, but genuinely fit the occasion.
What matters to me is that a celebration should not follow some standard pattern that could simply be thrown over any group of guests. Every person is different, so every evening may look different as well. What do you want for your event? That is the question worth discussing properly, rather than relying on ready-made concepts.
When to enquire
The most sensible time to enquire is as soon as your venue in Plänterwald is confirmed. During the main season from May to September, a lead time of roughly 6 to 12 months is a good guide. Outside that season, 1 to 3 months is often enough. Enquiring earlier still never hurts – it merely saves you the frustration of hoping for a date that may already be gone.
Summer is here and the dance floors are full. If you are still planning a celebration now, you should act quickly. Available Saturdays for weddings, birthdays and parties up to the end of September are becoming fewer by the day.
Frequently booked as DJ for:
➥ Family celebrations
A family celebration is not a club night and it is not a musical vending machine either. That is exactly what makes it interesting, because guests arrive with completely different expectations and should still end up celebrating together.

The classic occasion is of course a birthday, often a milestone one. But it can just as easily be a confirmation, coming of age, anniversary or simply a family gathering where people want something more than coffee and cake. For me that means looking closely, staying musically flexible and not pretending forty guests will automatically share the same three favourite songs.
Some people imagine the DJ’s job to be surprisingly simple: press a button, music plays, dance floor full. If only it worked that way, I could take a lot more breaks. Especially at private celebrations, the real work lies in bringing together very different guests musically without the evening falling apart.
In Plänterwald, that is no different from anywhere else. There too, people with very different ideas of party music sit around one table, and in the end as many of them as possible should feel that the evening suited them properly.
➥ Wedding celebrations
A wedding is also just a private celebration with family and friends. And no, it absolutely is not. Because unlike almost any other party, you do not want to end the night thinking it could all have been better with a little more planning.

What I mean by that slightly confusing opening is simple: weddings demand even more care than an ordinary family celebration. Quite rightly, couples aim for a very high level of perfection, because unlike a birthday party that went slightly wrong, you cannot just say, “We will do it better next year.” This day is meant to be uniquely beautiful.
That is exactly why every wedding is something special to me as a DJ. I prefer to prepare weddings together with the couple in a personal meeting at the venue itself. In that final conversation we go through every highlight of the celebration so as little as possible is left to chance and typical planning mistakes can be avoided. I also speak with the person taking on the role of toastmaster so that guests planning surprises get the support they need as well.
By the time a couple starts looking for a DJ, the venue is often already fixed or at least very clearly taking shape. Maybe you have already made your choice, maybe you are still comparing two or three favourites nearby. Lighthouse in Oberschöneweide might already be part of that picture as well. One way or another, The borough of Treptow-Köpenick offers enough possibilities, and when date and venue are slowly becoming firm, it is worth not waiting too long with the DJ enquiry.
Berlin loves differently – how wedding couples celebrate in truly distinctive venues
Whether born-and-bred Berliners or recent converts to big-city life, people marrying in Berlin usually want the city’s spirit to be part of the wedding too. Somewhere between graffiti, Gründerzeit façades and pockets of urban green, couples look for something that feels unmistakably Berlin: genuine, creative and just a little different.
Berlin couples increasingly avoid standard function rooms. They are drawn instead to venues with a story and a sense of urban identity – old villas on the edge of the city, hidden garden restaurants and places where city life and nature meet in a surprisingly graceful way.
More and more couples are also moving away from the classic fairy-tale wedding. Industrial-style locations are especially popular: concrete, brick, history and atmosphere. Former factories, warehouses and depot buildings provide exactly the kind of backdrop modern romance can work with.
➥ Emergency DJ
Your booked DJ has cancelled at short notice and excitement has turned into frantic phone calls? That is exactly what my emergency DJ service is for. Not as a miracle cure for every disaster, but as an honest chance to stop your celebration from crashing into the wall musically.

For me, emergency DJ service applies to all enquiries received less than 72 hours before music start time and to all bookings confirmed less than 48 hours before music start time. At that point there is no longer any room for the usual preparation with wish lists, fine tuning and a comfortable lead-up. Then the goal is simply to bring structure, music and atmosphere back into the evening at all.
So you do not have to guess the rough price range in the middle of that stress, you will find a pricing example here. And just so there is no misunderstanding: I can handle more than tiny emergencies. I can also provide larger emergency events for indoor spaces with up to around 250 guests. If you need more equipment, please also take a look at My Prices.
What I bring is not magic dust, but experience, equipment and a very large music library. What no longer works at this stage is a finely prepared content plan. No long wish list, no twenty-point no-go catalogue and no last-minute shopping trip for obscure personal favourites. In an emergency, people dance to what I already have properly in my repertoire and can sensibly work into the evening.
If things are really burning, please call me first. If I cannot answer right away, do leave a voicemail with the location and the desired music start time. If you prefer writing, put “emergency” or “urgent” very clearly into the subject or occasion field. Otherwise your emergency can easily look like a normal enquiry, and in this case that would be less than ideal.
➥ Prom, graduation, finally done
When years of exams, tests, group projects and well-practised eye-rolling in the direction of the classroom finally come to an end, the celebration that follows may happily be more than just a pleasant dinner with obligatory smiling.

That is exactly what makes proms and other graduation celebrations so special: they are expected to be several things at once. A little formal, a little emotional, a little reflective, and later on a proper party too. That works well when the running order and the technical side are prepared properly instead of being pushed together in a panic on the night itself.
I can support that with suitable sound for speeches, video clips or programme items, with wireless microphones and of course with music once the official part should finally make way for party mood. The evening may certainly become relaxed. It just should not wobble at the points that can easily be planned well beforehand.
And because your year group is not the only one trying to celebrate in late spring and early summer, here comes the slightly unromantic but important part: secure your date in good time. Around then, an astonishing number of people want to get married, celebrate or otherwise make noise.
➥ Karaoke parties
If there is a small gap at a party somewhere between eating, drinking and dancing, you do not necessarily have to dig out the next drinking game. You can also simply let people sing.
If there is a small gap at a party somewhere between eating, drinking and dancing, you do not necessarily have to dig out the next drinking game. You can also simply let people sing.
That is exactly where karaoke shines. Guests entertain guests, someone suddenly discovers their inner pop star, and the rest of the room wavers somewhere between applause, laughter and loud support, depending on the talent level involved. Boredom is rarely an issue.
For that, I bring a ready-made karaoke package: about 300 songs in German and English, two wireless microphones, a 24.5-inch monitor on a stand for the lyrics and clean playback via my DJ system. Song lists are naturally included, too, so nobody has to guess what is available.
The current price for the karaoke package is 69,00 EUR.
And just for the avoidance of doubt before the question even gets a running start: no, the package is not available as a stand-alone booking and not as simple equipment hire. With me, karaoke is always an add-on to your party.
