Since 2015 I have been self-employed, providing music for weddings, birthdays, family celebrations and other occasions where music, atmosphere and people should work together rather than compete.
I do not believe in forcing celebrations into one rigid template just because that makes planning feel easier. People celebrate differently, guests react differently, and the evening may look different for exactly that reason. I would much rather you tell me openly what you want than have some generic programme dumped on top of your event.
How much lead time makes sense
As soon as you know where exactly you will be celebrating in Bad Freienwalde, it is worth getting in touch. During the season from May to September, 6 to 12 months is a good rule of thumb. Whether it is a birthday, pre-wedding party, anniversary or a larger celebration with family and friends: hosts want atmosphere, guests would ideally each like to hear their own music, and somewhere in between stands the DJ. Anyone who thinks I only have to press play and the rest will sort itself out either knows private parties only by hearsay or has been extremely lucky.

Still looking puzzled? Good. That small bit of confusion was intentional. As at any celebration, poor planning can damage the evening, and well-meant surprises can throw a schedule off completely. The difference is that at an ordinary private party you can always say, “Next time we will do it better.” Ideally, a wedding only happens once.
That is why I prepare weddings more thoroughly than other events. The final planning meeting with the couple ideally takes place at the venue. I also coordinate with the best man, maid of honour or whoever is organising surprises, because their ideas can have a real impact on the flow of the evening. Staying in touch on the wedding day itself helps prevent awkward interruptions and keeps the celebration running naturally.
When couples start looking for a DJ, the venue is often already booked or at least close to being decided. Maybe you have made your choice; maybe you are still comparing two or three favourites nearby. Lichtblick House (Old Cinema) in Letschin might be one of them. The district of Märkisch-Oderland gives you plenty to choose from, and once the date and venue are becoming firm, it is best not to leave the DJ enquiry too long.

That is exactly what I am bookable for as a DJ on New Year’s Eve. If the evening only truly catches fire around midnight, a slow musical stroll does not help. New Year’s Eve may start off relaxed, but by the time the countdown approaches it should be clear that this is not just about chilled sparkling wine – the party itself needs to mean business.
What many people underestimate is this: for service providers, New Year’s Eve is not some romantic exception, but a working date with particularly high demand. That is why the fee is noticeably higher than on a normal date. That is neither rip-off nor bad mood, just the difference between an ordinary Saturday and the one night when half the country wants to celebrate.
For commercial New Year’s Eve events in Bad Freienwalde, I currently offer a flat rate of 1.200 EUR plus 19% VAT for 2026, covering up to 200 guests, 6 to 8 hours of music plus sound and lighting for one room or hall. GEMA fees are additional.

An enquiry becomes an emergency case for me when it arrives less than 72 hours before music start time or when the actual booking only comes together within the final 48 hours beforehand. From that point on, this is no longer a normal planning process but damage control with very limited time. That is exactly why an emergency booking works differently from a normally prepared event.

I bring equipment, music, microphone work if required and enough routine to make something solid out of the situation even under time pressure. What you cannot expect is the usual level of detail preparation. I will not build elaborate individual playlists at the last minute, buy missing tracks or design the perfect running order for every programme item. What I do instead is quickly grasp what matters, set up properly and rescue an evening that looked very unstable shortly before.

I can provide sound, make announcements possible and, if required, also take on the moderating role myself. That fits sports festivals, club competitions, smaller tournaments and similar formats where not every detail needs huge production values, but where the whole event should still feel properly organised.
For smaller sports grounds and halls, I bring the equipment including wireless microphones for announcements, awards or interviews. When it comes to larger areas, I know where the sensible limit of my own setup is, and for larger areas I would rather bring in a partner company built for that job. It is more honest, it sounds better and it saves nerves in the end.
If the sports event turns into a celebration afterwards, that is not a problem at all but rather the obvious next step. In that case, award music, announcement beds and event music can flow quite naturally into a proper evening party.
