Mobiler Musikservice is me, Jens-Peter Weismantel. My first DJ experience goes all the way back to 1992, followed by many years as a radio DJ on online radio. Since 2015 I have been self-employed, providing music for weddings, birthdays, family celebrations and other occasions where music, atmosphere and people should work together rather than compete.
I do not believe in forcing celebrations into one rigid template just because that makes planning feel easier. People celebrate differently, guests react differently, and the evening may look different for exactly that reason. I would much rather you tell me openly what you want than have some generic programme dumped on top of your event.
When to enquire
The most sensible time to enquire is as soon as your venue in Zahna-Elster is confirmed. During the main season from May to September, a lead time of roughly 6 to 12 months is a good guide. Outside that season, 1 to 3 months is often enough. Enquiring earlier still never hurts – it merely saves you the frustration of hoping for a date that may already be gone.
The off-season runs from October to April. Plan your party or Christmas party 1 to 3 months in advance. If you are getting married next year or planning a celebration between May and September, now is a very good time to coordinate your preferred dates early. The New Year's Eve celebration is currently still available and should be coordinated in good time.

That is exactly what makes private celebrations interesting. Whether it is a milestone birthday, a coming-of-age celebration, a family anniversary or a silver wedding: everyone should have a good evening even though they rarely share exactly the same taste in music. For me that does not mean working through a prepared list, but finding the right balance between singalongs, dancing, familiar favourites and the occasional breather.
In Zahna-Elster, an evening like this usually begins much as it does anywhere else: people talk, eat and settle in, and later the mood gradually shifts towards the dance floor. That is where a good sense of timing matters, because sometimes only one song lies between “not too wild just yet” and “why is nobody dancing?”.

What I mean by that slightly contradictory opening is simple: weddings need even more care than an ordinary family celebration. Quite rightly, couples want the important details to be right, because unlike a birthday party that went slightly wrong, you cannot simply say, “We will do it better next year.” This day is meant to be special.
That is why I prepare every wedding carefully with the couple. I prefer the final planning meeting to take place at the venue itself, where we can go through the key moments and avoid the usual clashes in the schedule. I also like to involve the best man, maid of honour or whoever is coordinating surprises, so their plans support the celebration instead of colliding with it.
By the time couples start looking for a wedding DJ, the biggest venue question is usually already settled. Often the place is booked; sometimes there are still two or three favourites on the shortlist. Hotel & Restaurant "Alte Canzley" in Wittenberg may be one of them. The district of Wittenberg offers plenty of options, and once the venue is taking shape it makes sense to ask about the DJ too.

With so many castles and palaces in Saxony-Anhalt, you might expect wedding venues of that kind to be everywhere. In reality, many of those buildings are privately used, poorly maintained or focused on tourism rather than celebrations, so couples need to look much more carefully than the postcard image suggests.
If people are searching for particularly strong venues, the south of the state usually offers more choice. In the northern areas, it often takes more effort to find something that feels truly special and not just like a village inn dressed up for the weekend.
That is why couples in Saxony-Anhalt often end up choosing places where landscape, history and their own story can come together naturally – not always grand in the fairy-tale sense, but often much more fitting in the real one.

New Year’s Eve has its own rhythm. First there is food, conversation and a bit of warming up, then the tension builds towards midnight and afterwards the party should be allowed to take off properly. Reading that arc is crucial, otherwise the celebration quickly turns into one of those nights where everyone is politely present but nobody ever really gets going.
And let us be honest: even a DJ would usually prefer to spend New Year’s Eve relaxing rather than working. If I am out instead, responsible for the atmosphere, that comes at a price. Anyone who finds that odd is welcome to imagine how many colleagues would gladly drive out on 31 December for an everyday fee. Exactly.

For me, emergency DJ service applies to all enquiries received less than 72 hours before music start time and to all bookings confirmed less than 48 hours before music start time. At that point there is no longer any room for the usual preparation with wish lists, fine tuning and a comfortable lead-up. Then the goal is simply to bring structure, music and atmosphere back into the evening at all.
So you do not have to guess the rough price range in the middle of that stress, you will find a pricing example here. What I bring is not magic dust, but experience, equipment and a very large music library. What no longer works at this stage is a finely prepared content plan. No long wish list, no twenty-point no-go catalogue and no last-minute shopping trip for obscure personal favourites. In an emergency, people dance to what I already have properly in my repertoire and can sensibly work into the evening.
If things are really burning, please call me first. If I cannot answer right away, do leave a voicemail with the location and the desired music start time. If you prefer writing, put “emergency” or “urgent” very clearly into the subject or occasion field. Otherwise your emergency can easily look like a normal enquiry, and in this case that would be less than ideal.

That is exactly what makes proms and other graduation celebrations so special: they are expected to be several things at once. A little formal, a little emotional, a little reflective, and later on a proper party too. That works well when the running order and the technical side are prepared properly instead of being pushed together in a panic on the night itself.
I can support that with suitable sound for speeches, video clips or programme items, with wireless microphones and of course with music once the official part should finally make way for party mood. The evening may certainly become relaxed. It just should not come unstuck at the points that can easily be planned well beforehand.
And because your year group is not the only one trying to celebrate in late spring and early summer, here comes the slightly unromantic but important part: secure your date in good time. Around then, an astonishing number of people want to get married, celebrate or otherwise make noise.
