Since 2015 I have been self-employed, providing music for weddings, birthdays, family celebrations and other occasions where music, atmosphere and people should work together rather than compete.
I do not believe in forcing celebrations into one rigid template just because that makes planning feel easier. People celebrate differently, guests react differently, and the evening may look different for exactly that reason. I would much rather you tell me openly what you want than have some generic programme dumped on top of your event.
The right time to get in touch
Once the venue for your celebration in Neuenhagen is fixed, the enquiry can follow straight away. For dates between May and September, a lead time of around 6 to 12 months makes sense. The classic occasion is of course a birthday, often a milestone one. But it can just as easily be a confirmation, coming of age, anniversary or simply a family gathering where people want something more than coffee and cake. For me that means looking closely, staying musically flexible and not pretending forty guests will automatically share the same three favourite songs.
Some people imagine the DJ’s job to be surprisingly simple: press a button, music plays, dance floor fills. If only it worked that way, I could take a lot more breaks. Especially at private celebrations, the real work lies in bringing together very different guests musically without the evening falling apart.

That is exactly what makes weddings different from many other celebrations for me. Music, timing, surprises and atmosphere all interact much more closely. If something jars or slips out of place, people notice it far more quickly than they would at an ordinary party. That is why it is worth discussing the key points in advance instead of hoping improvisation will save the evening.
This is also why I prepare weddings more thoroughly than other events. I work through the schedule, the important highlights and the musical direction with my couples so the evening feels coherent rather than stiff. I also like to involve the wedding party or toastmaster, because surprise contributions should support the celebration rather than trip it up.
By the time couples start looking for a wedding DJ, the biggest venue question is usually already settled. Often the place is booked; sometimes there are still two or three favourites on the shortlist. Dos Parejas Restaurant in Altlandsberg may be one of them. The district of Märkisch-Oderland offers plenty of options, and once the venue is taking shape it makes sense to ask about the DJ too.

New Year’s Eve has its own rhythm. First there is food, conversation and a bit of warming up, then the tension builds towards midnight and afterwards the party should be allowed to take off properly. Reading that arc is crucial, otherwise the celebration quickly turns into one of those nights where everyone is politely present but nobody ever really gets going.
And let us be honest: even a DJ would usually prefer to spend New Year’s Eve relaxing rather than working. If I am out instead, responsible for the atmosphere, that comes at a price. Anyone who finds that odd is welcome to imagine how many colleagues would gladly drive out on 31 December for an everyday fee. Exactly.

An enquiry becomes an emergency case for me when it arrives less than 72 hours before music start time or when the actual booking only comes together within the final 48 hours beforehand. From that point on, this is no longer a normal planning process but damage control with very limited time. That is exactly why an emergency booking works differently from a normally prepared event.
Before you start juggling ten question marks in your head, here is a pricing example to give you an initial idea. And if you are thinking this only applies to small birthday gatherings: no. I bring equipment, music, microphone work if required and enough routine to make something solid out of the situation even under time pressure. What you cannot expect is the usual level of detail preparation. I will not build elaborate individual playlists at the last minute, buy missing tracks or design the perfect running order for every programme item. What I do instead is quickly grasp what matters, set up properly and rescue an evening that looked very unstable shortly before.

Especially at relaxed celebrations, not every minute needs to be tightly choreographed. Sometimes all it takes is a microphone, the right song and one guest who can either sing surprisingly well or with excellent confidence do the exact opposite. In both cases, entertainment is guaranteed.
The karaoke package includes around 300 songs from well-known classics to newer chart songs, two wireless microphones, a monitor on a stand for the lyrics, playback through my DJ sound system and of course title lists so that people do not have to spend ten minutes debating what can actually be sung.
